Del Sol Nail Polish

I recently discovered the coolest nail polish ever, from a really cute little store called Del Sol. I've only seen it in Bar Harbor, Maine and Destin, Florida, but here's a link to the website so you can buy them online:

http://www.delsol.com

Del Sol is a store where everything changes colors when hit by rays of sunlight. It's literally the coolest thing ever, especially the nail polishes. I got four for $24, but it's totally worth it. You have to think about it, it's like getting eight nail polishes.
The one I'm wearing in the above pictures is called "Spike", and because I'm indoors, it's only one color, but it starts off this gorgous blue-green, and switches to a really pretty pink color. Here's the link to that particular nail polish: http://www.delsol.com/store/Accessories___Nail_Polish___Color_Change_Nail_Polish___Spike___8028

I'm sorry to say that there's no particular nail design that i wanted to share with you, but I thought this was pretty cool, so you should check it out. The Italian Glass bottles are really nice quality, and I took home a bunch more for my friends when I went to Maine.

*+*+*Leoprard Print Nail Tutorial*+*+*

So today I decided to do a tutorial on my Leopard Nails. They're really cute if I do say so myself:)
Take a Looksie:

First I covered each nail in Milani Nailpolish, Gold. This brand is slightly expensive, but definately high quality. It can be substituted by any gold or beige toned color.
Once the Gold was dried, I used a brown nail polish. I believe the name was Really Royal by Sally Hansen. (I don't have the polish in front of me.) To create the spots, I dabbed my brush on the nail creating ovals and circles. A real leopard's skin pattern is basically very "messy" with no precise spots. They don't have to be perfect. I used this picture for insperation:
http://neftriplecrunch.files.wordpress.com/2008/11/leopard.jpg
As you can see the spots' shapes vary; some of the even look like hearts.
Once the spots were dried, I used the color Black by Nail Art Deco to trace little thin lines around the spots. As you can see from the picture the brown color is like the filling to the outer 'border', if you will. Like the spots, the lines should be messy and unprecise. They should not trace the spots exactly. We're looking to be as realistic as possible!
Lastly I ended with a topcoat: L'Oreal Top Coat. I like this top coat because it adds a lot of extra shine. Like I said about my previous tutorials for zebra nails, make sure the spots are all dry to avoid smudging with the gold.
The overall turnout should look like this:

You can do the same look with various colors to make it more fun!

*+*+Nail Design Tips and Tutorials*+*+*

Hey eeveryone! I haven't posted in awhile (not counting today, of course), so I decided to give some nail design tips and tutorials. Everyone asks me if my nails are fake, but they're not, they're perfectly real!! It's super easy to do, so get ready to have beautiful nails at your fingertips...haha
First of all, I must introduce those who don't know to my best friends, Nail Art Deco. You can find them at Forever 21 (www.forever21.com)for $1. I've never seen them anywhere else, but I assume you can find them elsewhere, such as nail salons or even the Dollar Store. The reason that these polishes are so fantastic are that they have super thin brushes, perfect for thin strokes and easy designs. They also come in over 200 amazing colors and dry really quickly. (no, I do not get paid to advertise:P)

Zebra Nail Design:
First thing I did was cover each nail with the color French White by CQ. I don't recomend to paint the whole nail with Nail Art Deco, because it takes a long time. Once the nails dried, I began stroking each nail with a black NAD brush. I basically followed a zebra curtain in my room for the design basics. You can print out a picture on the internet and copy the stripes if you would like. The secret is not to do any harsh lines, but constant, flowing lines to look more realistic. To add a pop of color, I then traced the outside of some of the lines with the Mint color by NAD, and then again with Silver. Black and white is just too plain for me! I finished with a coat of clear polish to give the nail shine and strength, but WAIT UNTIL ALL LAYERS OF STRIPES ARE COMPLETELY DRY TO PREVENT COLOR BLURRINESS AND MIXING.

Hot Pink Abstract Nail Design:
Another design I did was the Hot Pink Abstract look. First, I painted each nail with the color Rockin Pink by L'Oreal Paris. Again, don't use NAD to paint the actual first coat. Next, much like the zebra stripes, I created lines on my fingers with the NAD color Black. Instead of offical zebra like stripes, I had a little more fun and let my hand flow as it pleased. I then used the Mint once again to splash color in fairly random places. Lastly, I used Silver and Gold to trace some of the black lines outside. Once again, a top coat of clear.

Toenail Design for Circus Stripes:
This design can also be used on fingernails, but the picture on my camera was the one of the toes:) I started by painting each toe the color Lincoln Park After Dark. Next, I took the color Hot Pink by NAD (you can use any colors desired), and started by making two lines on opposite sides of the nail. I then did the same with the color Mint, filling in smaller, thinner lines between the pink. After this, I added NAD's Turquoise color to the very edges of the nail. Then I added some pops of silver lines between any other avaliable pink or mint one. Lastly, I used a top coat for shine. These reminded my of a Circus for some reason...I don't know.

So, there you have it! Simple and easy nail designs for any time!

Victoria Beckham and Roland Mouret:The Little Black Dress Collection

The Little Black Dress Collection

So far, there are no "little black dresses" in the whole entire collection.
Victoria Beckham decided to work with French designer Roland Mouret to create a line that outshines all other denim and accessories lines ever done by Victoria in the past.
Recently, Jennifer Lopez shined in one of the dresses designed by Mrs. Beckham.
What do you think?

Fashion Friday (Outfit of the Week)

Yellow Sweater: Charlotte Russe, Black Cami: Urban Outfitters, Purple Jeans: Urban Outfitters, Giant Bow in my hair: forever 21, Boots: forever 21, scarf: icing stores

So, I thought I would start an outfit of the day. That was before I realized how incrediably mediocre my camera skills are. I will attempt to have quality pictures..but no promises as I have not found anyone willing to take pictures of me for me. Ignore my hair, because I took these pictures when I woke p before I straightened it!

So sorry that one picture is of me and the other is not. I own those jeans, but I need to take a picture of them once I put on my PJs:)

Ontoplist

Helllo everybody! Remember me? The girl who used to write this blog?
Haha it's been a little while...just wanting some followers to inspire me!
Anyway, I recently put my blog on the ontoplist directory in the shopping section ([it's the only section they had closest to high fashion]), so here is the link to my blog and millions of others (humbling, isn't it?) like it.

Iekeliene Stange--and freaks who get paid to look bad..?

I am kind of frusterated that most models cannot dress themselves for their lives without the help of a stylist. It just aggrivates me! Thankfully, models such as Iekeliene Stange have an amazing style that I admire. It's really lunatistic--if such word existed (webster, look it up, please), vintage, and fun! Frankly, because I'm, well, me, I could never pull off most of what she does, but that doesn't stop me from wishing I could!

French Vogue: Lara Stone

Usually I don't throw my two-cents out there when it comes to things that have little to do with fashion, and more to do with the public's opinion, but I just couldn't resist as soon as I heard about the French Vogue "scandal". I think we all know how much Vogue pushes the envelope very often, but for the past, say, 48 hours, Vogue has been under fire about the recent issue. Rather than Naomi Cambell or Tyra Banks, they felt the need to have Dutch model Lara Stone painted in "black-face", meaning head to toe black body paint. Her lips are fuller and her eyes also made darker. In my opinion, the layout is stunning, and the makeup is supurb, featuring pieces by Alexander McQueen and Comme des Garcon, but there is so much controversy over using black-face on a normally pale-skinned, blonde model. On the opposite side, people are admitting that the French love African American women, and this was taken way over the top. Isn't Vogue usually a respected high fashion magazine? I'm throwing all the facts out there...no real opinion other than the gorgous clothing and makeup.

Street Style: Fear the Feathers

It certainly takes nerve to pull off Leigh Lezark's take on the Feather Trend at the Paris Fashion Week. She's wearing a Giambattista Valli peacock dress, and I have to say she did succeed in pulling it off. Her jet black hair made the whole look seemingly endless.
There really wasn't a more appropriate time for Blake Lively to pull of the Feather Trend than, of course, at the NY premiere of Where the Wild Things Are. I wonder if Blake knew that you didn't have to dress like one of the movie characters to get into the premiere...
Besides the unfortunate coincidence of dress and premiere, Blake certainly pulled off the feather trend with the variation of black lace and feathers, on contrast with her blonde hair.
...the feather trend...

Altamira NYC: Craig Arend (a.k.a a tribute to the skinny jean)

I just wanted to formally (or as formally as possible) applaud fellow blogger Craig Arend. Frankly, he is amazing. This is all this photography, which he is brilliant at. Not only this, but I love his blog. These are all his pictures featured above. I chose these to show because of my favorite trend--the skinny jean, of course. The jean "back by popular demand" shipped straight from the 80's. Gee, I hope we remember to send a thank you card...

Anyway, be sure to check out Craig's blog: http://altamiranyc.blogspot.com/

:)

Leather Craze

You can find this season's style just about anywhere. Lovely baggy cardigans and chunky belts weren't started here. It seems that style has almost gone in a circle..and so the ones who could never keep up are now at the head of the pack. I have to say the leather pants is a refreshing change from last seasons leather legging craze. Phillip Lim in NYC showed leather tank tops and tee shirts tucked into tight shirts or baggy pants. Oh, people and their love of leather.
