I was requested to do nails inspired by Victoria Beckham's dress (you can see it if you scroll down under the Victoria Beckham and Roland Mouret post. It's the zebra and hot pink one.)
Basically it's a hot pink nail with black zebra tips.
PLUS: Nail care tips. Everyone thinks my nails are fake, but they're just healthy and long:) I'll tell you how to get the same look!

I'm so excited!
I won best nails at Twilight Night! Well, I mean New Moon Night but that just sounds awkward. Yes, I'm one of those Twilighters. I love it.
Anyway, I won the New Moon Soundtrack and a poster because I had the best nails. I'll post a tutorial soon:)

*+*+*Leoprard Print Nail Tutorial*+*+*
So today I decided to do a tutorial on my Leopard Nails. They're really cute if I do say so myself:)
Take a Looksie:

First I covered each nail in Milani Nailpolish, Gold. This brand is slightly expensive, but definately high quality. It can be substituted by any gold or beige toned color.
Once the Gold was dried, I used a brown nail polish. I believe the name was Really Royal by Sally Hansen. (I don't have the polish in front of me.) To create the spots, I dabbed my brush on the nail creating ovals and circles. A real leopard's skin pattern is basically very "messy" with no precise spots. They don't have to be perfect. I used this picture for insperation:
http://neftriplecrunch.files.wordpress.com/2008/11/leopard.jpg
As you can see the spots' shapes vary; some of the even look like hearts.
Once the spots were dried, I used the color Black by Nail Art Deco to trace little thin lines around the spots. As you can see from the picture the brown color is like the filling to the outer 'border', if you will. Like the spots, the lines should be messy and unprecise. They should not trace the spots exactly. We're looking to be as realistic as possible!
Lastly I ended with a topcoat: L'Oreal Top Coat. I like this top coat because it adds a lot of extra shine. Like I said about my previous tutorials for zebra nails, make sure the spots are all dry to avoid smudging with the gold.
The overall turnout should look like this:

You can do the same look with various colors to make it more fun!

*+*+Nail Design Tips and Tutorials*+*+*
Hey eeveryone! I haven't posted in awhile (not counting today, of course), so I decided to give some nail design tips and tutorials. Everyone asks me if my nails are fake, but they're not, they're perfectly real!! It's super easy to do, so get ready to have beautiful nails at your fingertips...haha
First of all, I must introduce those who don't know to my best friends, Nail Art Deco. You can find them at Forever 21 (www.forever21.com)for $1. I've never seen them anywhere else, but I assume you can find them elsewhere, such as nail salons or even the Dollar Store. The reason that these polishes are so fantastic are that they have super thin brushes, perfect for thin strokes and easy designs. They also come in over 200 amazing colors and dry really quickly. (no, I do not get paid to advertise:P)

Zebra Nail Design:
First thing I did was cover each nail with the color French White by CQ. I don't recomend to paint the whole nail with Nail Art Deco, because it takes a long time. Once the nails dried, I began stroking each nail with a black NAD brush. I basically followed a zebra curtain in my room for the design basics. You can print out a picture on the internet and copy the stripes if you would like. The secret is not to do any harsh lines, but constant, flowing lines to look more realistic. To add a pop of color, I then traced the outside of some of the lines with the Mint color by NAD, and then again with Silver. Black and white is just too plain for me! I finished with a coat of clear polish to give the nail shine and strength, but WAIT UNTIL ALL LAYERS OF STRIPES ARE COMPLETELY DRY TO PREVENT COLOR BLURRINESS AND MIXING.

Hot Pink Abstract Nail Design:
Another design I did was the Hot Pink Abstract look. First, I painted each nail with the color Rockin Pink by L'Oreal Paris. Again, don't use NAD to paint the actual first coat. Next, much like the zebra stripes, I created lines on my fingers with the NAD color Black. Instead of offical zebra like stripes, I had a little more fun and let my hand flow as it pleased. I then used the Mint once again to splash color in fairly random places. Lastly, I used Silver and Gold to trace some of the black lines outside. Once again, a top coat of clear.

Toenail Design for Circus Stripes:
This design can also be used on fingernails, but the picture on my camera was the one of the toes:) I started by painting each toe the color Lincoln Park After Dark. Next, I took the color Hot Pink by NAD (you can use any colors desired), and started by making two lines on opposite sides of the nail. I then did the same with the color Mint, filling in smaller, thinner lines between the pink. After this, I added NAD's Turquoise color to the very edges of the nail. Then I added some pops of silver lines between any other avaliable pink or mint one. Lastly, I used a top coat for shine. These reminded my of a Circus for some reason...I don't know.
So, there you have it! Simple and easy nail designs for any time!
Look Foward To: Leopard Print, Brand Monograms (chanel, louis vuitton, etc), zebra french tips
